Attractions
Glendale offers several notable attractions such as The Doctors' House. The house is a Queen Anne-Eastlake style home built about 1888, and which served as a residence and office space for three prominent early Glendale physicians. It has been authentically restored to its late 19th century appearance and furnished and decorated it in the style of the period. The Doctors' office also contains numerous medical implements and supplies of the era. Another great place to explore is the famous Forest Lawn Memorial Park cemetery. The cemetery has dozens of elaborate Hollywood tributes and exhibits, and attracts over one million annual visitors.
With its proximity to Los Angeles, residence and visitors alike will never have a shortage of things to do. Consider a visit to the Autry National Center which presents a wide variety of programs and events throughout the year for visitors on diverse arts and cultures of the American West. Or, see more than 1,200 rare and endangered animals at the Los Angeles Zoo. New exhibits and animals are constantly being introduced, as some recent additions include Snow Leopards. If you are looking for a little adventure, then a trip to Universal Studios, Six Flags Magic Mountain, or Hurricane Harbor may be in order.
